One in 91 Emails Contain Virus or Malware
One in 91 email messages contained a virus or malware, according to a report by Sophos. According to Sophos, email messages containing viruses in the first 6 months of 2006 has decreased compared to 2005.
One in 91 email messages contained a virus or malware, according to a report by Sophos. According to Sophos, email messages containing viruses in the first 6 months of 2006 has decreased compared to one in 35 during the same period in 2005.
Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos, said: “E-mail, as far as viruses are concerned, is actually safer than it was last year.” [SOURCE]
According to Sophos, 81% of malware detected by Sophos on the internet is a Trojan horse.
Sophos also reveals that there are still old malware codes circulating on the internet. The reasons, according to Sophos, include:
– Laziness on the part of hackers, who do not want to write new codes.
– Many computers of users do not have an anti-virus software.
According to Sophos, the most common malware in 2006 is Sober-Z.
