Large and mid-sized companies lag in mastering word of mouth marketing strategies, according to ‘Managing Word of Mouth Online’, a new research report by JupiterResearch.

Key findings of JupiterResearch include:

– 66% of small companies monitor WoM on an ongoing basis

– 33% of large companies monitor WoM on an ongoing basis

– 90% of large companies believe that consumer recommendations are important to influence other consumers’ purchase decisions

– Large companies are more likely to assign WoM management to PR and marketing groups.
