Google has updated Google Earth and Google Maps. Updates include Google SketchUp with textured buildings for Google Earth and Google Maps API.


Google has updated Google Earth and Google Maps.

The updates were announced as part of Geo Developer Day, the one year anniversary celebration of Google Earth and Google Maps

Updates for Google Earth include:

– Satellite imagery update

– New version of Google Earth

– Google SketchUp with textured buildings

Updates for Google Maps include:

– Google Maps API

– KML for Google Maps

– Google Maps for Enterprise

John Hanke, director of Google Earth and Maps, said: “In the past year, we have had more than 100 million unique Google Earth downloads and have enabled over 30,000 websites to create mash-ups combining their own geographic data with the Google Maps API.” [SOURCE]
