Windows Live Mail Desktop has launched Active Search feature. The feature scans users’ emails and displays potential search terms related to the emails.

The feature also displays text-based contextual ads. The feature will display contextually relevant ads next to each email message, served by Kanoodle.

When a user searches through a search box provided with the email interface, Microsoft AdCenter will serve paid search links.

The feature also lists a group of keywords or phrases in the upper right hand corner of the inbox. Users can click on the list to begin a search.

The users have an option to turn off the Active Search feature.
