eEye Digital has warned of a worm in the Symantec Anti-Virus software. The worm creates a backdoor on a user’s computer and allows remote hackers to take control of the computer.

The worm does not require any end user authorization and can be downloaded onto a user’s computer without his/her knowledge.

The worm could allow the execution of malicious code with System level access.

The software affected include:

– Symantec Antivirus 10.x and
– Symantec Client Security 3.x
