Snap is going to relaunch its search engine. Snap will add additional user interfaces to its search engine, including a page review and interspersing sponsored results and organic results.

The right hand of the search results page displays shows summaries of each site, with ads by a “sponsored result” tag. The right hand side of the page displays a preview of the particular highlighted site on the left.

Advertisers will be able to customize the right-hand side preview according to their ads. Users will be allowed to scroll down to view different previews. Some users will also be able to interact with the actual website without leaving the search engine.

Snap.com ranks search results using factors, including post-click behavior, conversion ratings, text analysis and link analysis.

Snap.com allows advertisers to buy results on a cost-per-action basis.

Snap.com is also conducting a contest called “The Other Way to Launch”.

Users can post marketing and advertising ideas on Snap’com’s blog and vote on other users’ suggestions. The contest ends June 9, 2006.

The participant who got the most votes will be awarded $5,000. The blog which referred the person to the winning idea will also be awarded $5,000.
