80% of US online teens have made purchases on the web, according to a report by Forrester Research. Older teens spent an average of $193 per month, compared to younger teens who spent $76 per month.

The study also revealed that older teens spent an average of 15 hours online per week. In the age group of 18-21, 87% went online weekly and 13% went online montly.
90% of the older teens had access to a broadband internet connection, while 86% of the younger teens had broadband access.
The items purchased by teens online include computer hardware, softare, music, DVDs and books.
The report was based on an online survey of 5,131 individuals in the month of November, 2005.
