Visimo’s Velocity Web search platform has helped launch the official U.S Government website.

The website includes Velocity’s search, federated-search, clustering capabilities and expanded search results from MSN Search.

MJ Pizzella, associate administrator of GSA’s Office of Citizen Services and Communications, said: “The combination of Vivisimo and MSN Search creates a powerful new FirstGov.gov search that will make users more productive and better informed.

The webiste uses Velocity to crawl government documents and webpages, meta search government resources and cluster the results into thematic categories.

Velocity Web search platform crawls and indexes government sources, including frequently asked question documents (FAQs), government forms, government job postings, audio podcasts and consumer product reports.
