Yahoo Q4 Earnings Reach $683.2 Million

In 2005, Yahoo saw a $310 million gain when Alibaba.com, a Chinese ecommerce company, took over Yahoo China.
Yahoo’s total revenue for Q4 was $1.5 billion, a 39% increase from $1.08 billion during Q4 of 2004. Minus the advertising commissions that Yahoo paid other websites, its Q4 revenue was $1.07 billion.
“If not for that gain and other accounting items unrelated to its ongoing operations, Yahoo said it would have earned 16 cents per share. That figure fell a penny below the average estimate among analysts polled by Thomson Financial.” [Source]
Yahoo’s shares gained 21 cents and closed at $40.11 per share on the Nasqad Stock Market. Then it fell $5.13 (12.8%) in extended trading.
Yahoo forecasts that excluding its ad commissions, 2006 revenues will be around $4.6 billion to $4.85 billion. But according to analysts at Thomson Financial, the average revenue estimate is $4.77 billion.
