Google: Finalist for Wi-Fi Project
Google is one of the finalists for the San Francisco Wi-Fi project. Five companies have been selected out of the 26 that had applied.
Google is one of the finalists considered for the San Francisco Wi-Fi project.
The other companies that are considered are Earthlink, Hewlett Packard, MetroFi and Skytel/MCI.
The Summary of Responses said, “5 of the 26 Responses were Turnkey – including business model, recommendations – and detailed hardware, software and services required for a complete solution.” [Source]
Google had teamed up with Wireless Facilities for the project to provide wireless Internet access to residents of San Francisco.
