Yahoo has opened a research center in New York. Yahoo has appointed Dr. Ron Brachman as the new VP, worldwide research operations and he will work out of the new research center.

Yahoo has appointed Dr. Ron Brachman as the new VP, Worldwide Research Operations of Yahoo. Dr. Brachman will be working out of the new research center.
Prabhakar Raghavan, Head of Yahoo! Research, said, “As Yahoo! Research continues to grow its ranks and expand geographically, we continue to seek top researchers to join us.
Ron will play a key role in this expansion as he helps establish Yahoo! Research’s presence on the East Coast and beyond.” [Source]
Ron Brachman has served as the Director of the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) Information Processing Technology Office (ITPO). Brachman has also been Research Vice President at AT&T Labs.
Brachman said, “I look forward to helping build a world-class research organization focused on exciting problems that only a company like Yahoo! can address with its array of products and services and its reach to more than 400 million consumers around the world.” [Source]
