Amazon has announced new programs to sell electronic books through their site. Customers can buy access to individual pages, chapters or the whole book.


Amazon has announced new programs to sell electronic books through their site. They have announced two programs:

Amazon Pages
Amazon Upgrade

Amazon Pages allows customers to buy just the pages of a book that are relevant to them and read them online.

Amazon Upgrade allows customers online access to the physical books that they have purchased through amazon.com.

Jeff Bezos,founder and CEO, Amazon.com, said, “Amazon Pages and Amazon Upgrade leverage Amazon’s existing Search Inside the Book technology to give customers unusual flexibility in how they buy and read books.In collaboration with our publishing partners, we’re working hard to make the world’s books instantly accessible anytime and anywhere.”[Source]
