The latest ‘Econsultancy’ blog post is titled “Mobile influenced £18bn of retail sales in 2013”. Christopher Ratcliff says, “In 2013 the percentage of in-store sales where mobile phones were used as part of the shopping journey stood at 6.8%. This equates to £18bn of sales, a figure 45% up on 2012. The latest article on ‘MarketingProfs’ is titled “Mobile Commerce Trends by Country in 2013”. Ayaz Nanji says, “Worldwide, most mobile media users (65%) used their devices to purchase goods or services in 2013, according to a recent report by MEF. The study, based on data from a survey of 10,000 consumers in 13 countries, found that Kenyans are most likely to have made a purchase with their mobile devices in 2013 (97% did so), followed by South Africans (94%).
