MOZ has released the ‘State of Local SEO Industry Report 2020’. This report presents findings based on a survey of 1,453 respondents from the local search industry.

The MOZ team says, “Our brand-new industry report maps the lay of the land in 2020 — providing a snapshot of local SEO, both before and during COVID-19 — helping you understand the trends, ideas, and biggest challenges shaping your work in the new decade:

  • 78% of respondents agree that Google has become the new homepage for local businesses
  • 51% of businesses will continue to invest in the new methods they’ve launched for getting products and services to customers due to COVID-19
  • 42% of companies have adopted an automated approach to listing management
  • 33% of companies are not prepared for mobile-first indexing”.
