Step #2: Take your unexpected idea and distill it down to its core ““ Once you’ve found an idea that’s surprising and unexpected, simplify it. Your prospect must be able to comprehend your core idea and be able to easily explain it to others.

Step #3: Make sure your prospect can RELATE to it ““ It must be an idea your prospect will immediately see as being highly relevant to his life. This has a lot to do with how “on target” ““ or valuable ““ your primary benefit is.

Step #4: Make your idea tangible and concrete ““ Dramatically enhance the impact of your big selling idea by fully dimensionalizing it; use explicit details, draw a comparison or even tell a story. Avoid being vague at all costs.

Step #5: Prove your idea beyond a shadow of a doubt ““ What’s the single strongest credibility element you can join to your big selling idea? What makes it most immediately persuasive? If your prospect doubts the validity of your idea ““ even for a second ““ you’re sunk!

Step #6: Add one of the most explosive factors of all ““ by leading with EMOTION! ““ Emotions get your prospect to actively care about your big selling idea, while making it more persuasive. When you select the right benefits to emphasize, you naturally trigger your prospect’s dominant emotions.

Step #7: Make your idea feel like a story! ““ Stories have an almost magical power to convey and demonstrate sales points, while both entertaining and inspiring action in your prospect. Remember: “Show, don’t tell!”
