Microsoft has launched ‘Virtual Earth 3D’ in beta, a new online mapping feature.

Virtual Earth 3D enables Internet users to explore the following US urban areas with textured buildings:

– San Francisco

– San Jose

– Seattle

– Boston

– Philadelphia

– Los Angeles

– Las Vegas

– Detroit

– Phoenix

– Houston

– Baltimore

– Atlanta

– Denver

– Dallas

– Fort Worth.

Developers can use the Virtual Earth 3D application programming interface to provide search capabilities on their applications and Web sites, according to Microsoft.
