How To Edit Audio On A PC
One of the most interesting items that being in business for yourself is that often you have no idea what is going to come up each day. Today is no exception. One of our clients emailed a question and that changed the direction that I was going to take with this edition of Insider Video Alert!
The question was: “Is there an easy software package that I can use on the PC to edit interviews recorded using an iPod.”
And the answer is that there are two excellent programs. The first is Audacity, an open source software program that allows you to record and edit audio. This software is free and has a number of features.
The other software is Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio. While Audio Studio is not free (costs about $70), it has more features than Audacity. I have been using Audio Studio for a number of years and find it meets most of my needs. One of the best parts about Audio Studio is that you can open a video and modify the audio. But that’s another question entirely.
Anyway, for this week’s edition I decided to answer the question with a short video. And as you’ll see, using screencast videos are a great way of giving information that has more depth than just a short text message. So when you are thinking about sending an answer to one of your client’s questions you might consider making a screencast instead of a text message. Especially since you can direct others to the video too.
Here Is The Screencast Video
This short video gives a much better answer to a question than I could ever do with a text message. And if I was selling videos that show how to create audio programs this would be a great item to give away to get traffic to my website.
This video took about fifteen minutes from start to finish. And yes, I did have some bloopers that we won’t mention 🙂
How I Did It!
First I started with the question that I was inclined to answer with a simple email. In fact, I even started the email when I realized that a simple screencast video would answer the question better. And once I did the video I decided to make it the subject for this edition of Instant Video Alert!
One of the goals of this newsletter is to provide you with tools that you can use to produce multimedia for the Internet. And of course, audio is a part of multimedia. But more importantly, showing how simple it is to answer a question with a video is even more important.
If you want to learn how to quickly create screencast videos like the one above then I recommend Multimedia Profits Revealed.
Also, right now I’m in the process of finishing a new advanced multimedia program called Multimedia Secrets Revealed. I thought it was complete but I found a number of new advanced features that I just had to add. This program will be over five hours of hard hitting videos about a subject that no one on the Internet is teaching. (One of the new features is the red cursor you’ll see in the screencast video above. I’ll show how to use it and how to create your own. Plus I’ll give you a bunch of new cursors.)
So be on the lookout for Multimedia Secrets Revealed. Coming soon!
