Google accounted for 59% of all U.S. searches in May 2006. Yahoo! and MSN got 22% and 12% searchers respectively, according to Hitwise.

Key findings of Hitwise include:
– www.google.com accounted for 59.3% of all searches in May, 58.6% searches in April and 58.3% searches in March
– search.yahoo.com accounted for 22.0% of all searches in May, 22.2% searches in April and 22.3% searches in March
– search.msn.com accounted for 12.1% of all searches in May, 12.6% searches in April and 13.1% searches in March.
Bill Tancer, general manager of Global Research at Hitwise, said: “As the volume of searches stabilizes across the top three search engines, the battle to supplement search with additional services and win the loyalty of Internet users becomes critical”. [source]
