ScanSafe is going to launch Scandoo, a service that adds labels to result pages of search engines. The labels are to identify which sites are legitimate and which sites are malicious.

Scandoo is a free service which analyses search results in real time and adds a green checkmark for legitimate websites. An image of a bug are displayed next to a potentially harmful and malicious website.

According to a research by McAfee, 285 million clicks are directed to potentially unsafe websites through search queries every month. The report also says that 3.1% of non-sponsored links were considered risky.

Scandoo works with Google at present. Other search engines, including Yahoo and MSN, are also expected to be added to the list in the next few weeks.
