Sophos has warned of a Trojan horse called Haxdoor-IN. Haxdoor is sent to a user through an email which contains a link to a free wallchart of teams in the soccer Worldcup tournament.

Once a user clicks on the link, the Trojan installs itself on the user’s PC and allows hackers to gain access to their computer.

According to Sophos, the emails are so far sent in the German language. But Sophos warns that the hackers may start using other languages.

Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos, said: “The World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events of the year, and fans all over the globe will be following their national team avidly. Malware authors are playing on interest in the tournament to try and infect as many people as possible, in an attempt to seize control, steal from, and spy on innocent users’ computers.” [Source]
