Yusuf Mehdi has become Microsoft’s Chief Advertising Strategist and he will be “working with the leadership team to shape Microsoft’s strategy for the online advertising market”.

Yusuf Mehdi “focuses on collaborating with groups across Microsoft delivering software-based services to ensure online advertising is a key part of their monetization strategy and planning processes”. [source]

Yusuf Mehdi was earlier the MSN Information Services engineering group.

Microsoft started its online business with MSN.

Mehdi has been instrumental in developing the MSN search engine which has over 3.5 billion queries per month.
