Google has launched Version 3 of Google Desktop.

The new version allows users to search for files across multiple computers. Users can also share information using Google Desktop.

The Google Blog says: “Now there’s v.3, in which you can also search across multiple computers to find your information. You don’t have to worry about where it lives; it’s available anywhere you are. If you’ve ever created a document but forgot whether it’s on your laptop or desktop, then you can appreciate why we built this feature.” [Source]

“And if you find something interesting in the Sidebar (an interesting newsbit, weekend weather, a hot stock), now you can right-click on the item and send it directly to your friend’s Sidebar.” [Source]

Users can also undock Sidebar panels and place them on any part of the desktop.

Google has opened its bidding for its print venture. AdWords advertisers can bid for 1 page, 1/2 page or 1/4 page ads in lifestyle and technology magazines.

“We’ve been conducting a series of early phase tests to determine how we could bring additional value to print advertising. We are continuing to experiment in this area and are now testing the application of an auction model to print media.” [click here]

The deadline to submit a bid is February 20.
