Interactive Advertising is Top Growth Sector for 2006
Interactive advertising is the top growth sector in the field of internet marketing for 2006, according to a survey by AdMedia Partners. Search marketing was also the top growth sector.
Interactive advertising is the top growth sector in the field of internet marketing for 2006, with 18%. Search marketing was also the top growth sector, with the same 18%.
Other sectors in the list were pay for performance marketing (11%), interactive media (11%), CRM (11%), Lead Generation (9%), behavioral and content advertising (8%), rich media (5%), and web development (2%).
“Advertising and search marketing grew exponentially in 2005 and, given their popularity and proven effectiveness, it’s not surprising the greatest share of respondents expect their momentum to continue in 2006. Nonetheless, many other sectors are gaining converts and could break out as the big winners in the year ahead.” [Source]
The data is from a marketing services and internet marketing survey titled “Merger and Acquisition Prospects for Marketing Services and Internet Marketing Firms”.
Internet marketing firms who participated in the survey anticipated 6-10 times pre-tax profit, compared to 5-7 times in 2005.
Respondents to the survey consisted of 52% marketing services firms, 30% internet marketing firms, 26% ad agencies and 9% holding companies.
69% of the respondents considered entering or expanding their presence in internet marketing in 2006.
70% of the online marketing firms who participated in the survey thought they were a healthy number of potential acquisition targets.
