Google sites held the top position in the qsearch analysis conducted by comScore Media Metrix with 39.8% of the internet population visiting the site. Yahoo held the second position with 29.5% visiting the site.


Google sites held the top position with 39.8% of the total internet population visiting the site. in the qsearch analysis conducted by comScore Media Metrix in the month of November 2005. In November 2004, Google sites had 34/6%.

Yahoo sites held the second position with 29.5% of the population visiting the site. In November 2004, Yahoo sites had 32% of the internet population.

MSN-Microsoft sites, Time Warner Network and Ask Jeeves followed in the list with 14.2%, 8.7% and 6.5% respectively.

Additional key findings of the analysis were:

a) Americans conducted 5.15 billion searches online during November 2005. This was 9% increase from November 2004.
b) Google sites measured 2.05 billion searches out of the 5.15 billion, followed by Yahoo which measured 1.52 billion.

“Yahoo! and Google continued to battle for supremacy in the toolbar search arena. Yahoo! Sites received 48.5 percent of toolbar searches, edging out Google’s 46.4 percent share.
