Google and Intel are going to partner on video search. Customers will be able to search for internet video on Google Search using Intel Viiv technology platform on their television and portable devices.

Susan Wojcicki, vice president for product management at Google, said: “Google looks forward to working with Intel to bring Google Video to consumers who use the new Intel Viiv platform. Both companies believe open standards are critical to provide rapid growth in digital entertainment. Our goal is to work closely with Intel to make Google Video content available on new digital devices in the home.” [Source]

Intel Viiv technology allows users to manage digital entertainment in the home. PCs based on Intel Viiv technology platform will be able to support high-definition video, surround sound and other features.

Google is also partnering with Motorola Inc to enable users access to Google via Motorola handsets.

Motorola is going to integrate a Google icon into selected devices which allows users to connect to Google directly.

Nikesh Arora, vice president, European Operations, Google Inc, said: “Access to information is imperative for people on-the-go. Whether checking the local weather or locating the restaurant of their choice, consumers today require personalized search services that are tailored to their needs.
