Google has announced the opening of new offices in São Paulo, Brazil and Mexico City, Mexico. The new offices will enable Google to provide better advertising services to advertisers, partners and users in Latin America.

Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, Vice President, Asia Pacific and Latin America operations, Google, said “Google’s Latin America teams will partner closely with businesses, advertisers and agencies throughout the region to enable them to capitalize on the significant opportunities this brings.” [Source]

Gonzalo Alonso heads Google’s Mexico operations. Alexandre Hohagen heads the Brazil operation.

Google had earlier acquired Brazil’s Akwan Information Technologies Inc which has become Google’s R&D centre in Brazil.
