The Federal Trade Commission caught a web business for infecting user’s PCs with spyware and adware. A U.S district court ordered the defendants to stop infecting PCs.
The FTC had filed a complaint that the website had a installation pop-up to appear.

The FTC reported that the pop-up window allegedly offered free music files, ringtones and so on. In some cases, a different pop-up warning the user that their browsers were defective and offered free security patch downloads. Once the users chose to download the freeware, users’ computers were infected with spyware.

The spyware allegedly took control of the user’s PC once downloaded.

The defendants named in the complaint are Enternet Media, Lida Rohbani, Nima Hakimi, Conspy & Co, Baback Hakimi(Networld One) and Nicholas C. Albert(Iwebtunes).
