FeedBurner will launch a new RSS ad network. Feedburner will let advertisers buy ads in different categories.

The network will allow advertisers to choose from different categories like:
Business
Technology
Current affairs
Consumer electronics
Entertainment
Digital culture

Ads will be sold on a CPM(Cost Per Impression) basis. It will cost between $4 and $7 per thousand impressions.

“The Cost Per Impression is often measured using the CPM (Cost Per Mille) metric. (A CPM is the cost of one thousand (1,000) impressions.)

CPM is considered the optimal form of selling online advertising from the publisher’s point of view. A publisher gets paid for each ad that is shown”. [Source]

Creative will initially be limited to 4 line text of 190 characters maximum. Graphic ads are expected to be included eventually. Feedburner’s business development staff will sell the ads.

Feedster, an RSS search service provider, is also announcing a service similar to Feedburner. The service makes it easier for online publishers to participate in the company’s RSS based advertising program. Feedburner’s program is for the advertisers and Feedstar’s program is for the publishers.
