Mercury News has quoted Andrew Florance, chief executive officer of CoStar Group, who said, “Google approached us some number of months ago wanting to work on some initiatives with us, and we have licensed some content to Google already”.

John Neff, who covers CoStar for Chicago’s William Blair & Co., said, “There are numerous ways CoStar’s data would be very attractive in numerous applications. There are possibly applications to be developed around using a Google map and being able to drill down into specific information on a given building, not just see it on a map”. [source]

“CoStar’s suite of services offers customers access via the Internet to the most comprehensive database of commercial real estate information on over 55 U.S. markets, London and the United Kingdom.

Based in Bethesda, MD, the company has approximately 1,000 employees throughout the United States and the United Kingdom, including the largest professional research organization in the industry”. [source]
