Google website has a new look with cakes under the Google logo, today.

Google has decorated its search site and users can feel the mood of the celebration with the birthday cakes seen under the Google logo.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin started Google in September 1998 and to mark its birthday, the site is sporting a new look, today.

According to the Google Quick Profile, “In September 1998, Google Inc. opened its door in Menlo Park, California. The door came with a remote control, as it was attached to the garage of a friend who sublet space to the new corporation’s staff of three”.

And Google’s first employee Craig Silverstein joined the company in September 1998. He is now Google’s director of technology.

According to the Quick Profile, there are many things associated with September for Google:

“On September 21, 1999, the beta label came off the website.

Google News launched in beta in September of 2002, offering access to 4,500 leading news sources from around the world.

That September (2004) we also passed the milestone of having more than 100 Google domains (Norway and Kenya are no. 102 and no. 103).

Keeping true to our roots in search, in mid-September we released Google Blog Search, a tool to help people find lively content as soon as it’s live on blogs around the world.”
