'New Age Ustad' Allows Businesses to Advertise Bloopers
Sydney, 19 January 2008 Tausif Siddiqi, an Australian traveling abroad has built an advertising website with a serious twist.
Businesses providing consumer goods and services can "advertise" their "customer service and quality bloopers and goof ups" on his website www.new-age-ustad.com
The website has a feedback section where consumers’ comments and opinions on his brain child and on the businesses who advertise on the website, can be posted. “I want to prove to businesses that consumers can and will still like you despite your shortcomings as a business as long as you admit you’re human just like them, and can convince them of your dedication and commitment to them,” Tausif adds.
A mixture of cheeky sarcasm, light hearted humor and serious statements of facts, the FAQ’s section finally explains what an ‘ustad’ is. His second aim for launching the website was to popularize the word ‘ustad’ in business circles....
What's an Ustad FAQ
What information should I provide in a business blooper?
A6) In 50 words or less, present an incident where your business goofed up on an issue of quality or service. The first few words should describe your product, service, industry, name of establishment (if you want), etc.
I'm just thinking loudly. A blooper might look something like:
Men's Accesories: A rather large gentleman walked into my store asking for a belt. I accidentally handed him a CAR fan belt. Boy did I ever lose THAT customer?!
In the example above the first 2 words describe the type of business and will be a link to your establishment's website. If you do not have a website, provide a street address and it will be listed along with your ad.
Its up to you to present a funny anecdote or a reasonably serious one. I expect you to keep it light and cool. This is not a confession box.
