Dajana Guja says, “Increase your number of followers, get more people to like your page, post, post, post… But what if what your post doesn’t show up in your fan’s Facebook News Feed? Some of you have noticed this more frequently and are probably wondering “What is happening?!” Times have changed and we are seeing the beginning of the decline of organic reach, that is, the ability to reach a large amount of people for free on Facebook by posting to your page.

In the past, Facebook would show users every post from a friend or a company that they were following and it was easy for brands to get their message out to their fans – fast and free. Since 2012, Facebook has been slowly adjusting its algorithm sets to dictate the organic reach of content based on Facebook’s perceived value of the content. According to Social@Ogilvy’s market study, the average reach of organic posts had declined from 12.05 percent in October 2013 to 6.15 percent in February 2014″.

Marketers, get ready for your content reach to plateau on Facebook
