VOIP sales will reach $5.5 billion by 2007, according to a report by Jupiter Research. Jupiter Research also predicts that VOIP sales will decrease to $3 billion by 2010.

According to Jupiter Research, the VOIP revenue growth will be mainly because of rapid business growth in China, and the increasing adoption of VOIP in the U.S.

The report also predicted that the IP-PBX market will reach $1.6 billion by 2007. IP phone sales will reach 16 million units by 2010.

The VOIP applications market will reach $500 million by 2010.

Barry Butler, author of the report, said: “VoIP has the potential to transform business communications, in terms of call costs, cost of operations and integration with business processes. However, as with other IP based platforms, VoIP is a disruptive technology which will reshape the business communications vendor community.” [Source]
