AOL has released Netscape 8.1. Netscape 8.1 includes an anti-spyware tool and support for RSS. AOL has also teamed up with IBM to connect IBM’s Lotus Sametime instant messenger with AOL, AIM, ICQ and Apple iChat instant messaging services.


AOL has released Netscape 8.1. Netscape 8.1 includes an anti-spyware tool and support for RSS.

The anti-spyware tool automatically scans downloads and blocks potential malware. A new security center has also been added to add to the browser’s security features.

AOL has also enabled support for multiple profiles in the new version 8.1. The new version allows different users to have separate settings, passwords and bookmarks.

AOL has also recently teamed up with IBM to connect their instant messaging communities.

Under the agreement, IBM’s Lotus Sametime users will be able to connect and communicate with uses of AOL, AIM, ICQ and Apple iChat instant messaging services.
